What is a Public Charter School?

As a public charter school, STEM is part of the Fond du Lac School District. Our teachers are trained, certified, public educators and we are under the direction of the district as an instrumentality. We do have a charter, which means that we have a purpose in the FDL District and that is to educate our students with a focus on STEM principles while using Project-Based Learning. STEM has its own Governance Board* that works to help direct the mission and vision of STEM Academy. This also helps us maintain an element of autonomy as a school.
