STEM High School
A very usual question we get asked is: “If my child didn’t attend STEM in middle school, can they/should they still attend in high school?”
Absolutely! We enter every level of education with the belief that every child has their own skills and strengths and that our goal is to help those areas develop in ways that prepare them for their lives. John Dewey said, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. Education, therefore, is a process of living and not a preparation for future living.” At STEM, we take this to heart and focus on what our students need in the here and now to be successful, while also getting them ready for their post-secondary education.
STEM is proud to boast something we call our College and Career Pathway Program. This programming allows our students to engage in careers, helping our students develop a better understanding of potential careers they may want to pursue after high school. As juniors and seniors, they are able to take on College/Tech School courses or enter into a Youth Apprenticeship.
Seniors also engage in a Senior Capstone Project, allowing them to further this interest while also earning college credits.
